Setting the Prisoner Free
In Hebrews 13:3 we are instructed to “Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body.” The church has a unique mandate to serve those languishing in prisons, mental institutions, and the needy. The workshop will show how to apply relational wisdom to help institutionalized persons find Christ and the freedom that comes from knowing Him can be transformational for the inmate, law enforcement, and victims. In this workshop, we will discuss RW to promote lasting change in individuals and institutions. We will also examine the need for and use of RW as a crisis intervention tool to train law enforcement officers how to deescalate volatile encounters with emotionally troubled individuals.
