A Tale of Two Fallen Pastors

Two pastors who were seriously crossways with their leadership teams recently asked me for advice. One of them is back in his pulpit. The other left in disgrace.

Although the first pastor had already resigned, he still wanted to learn how to be a peacemaker. By God’s grace, he has been fully restored to his pulpit, and his church is flourishing. Read Leadership Meltdown to see how God redeemed his ministry.

The other pastor had few peacemaking skills to begin with, and he was too proud to listen to advice. Instead, he resorted to denial and blame-shifting. As a result, he lost his pulpit and is still crippled by bitterness and resentment. Read One Relationship that Is Rarely Restored to see the factors that brought him, and many pastors like him, down.

These are just two examples of the conflicts that impact modern churches on a regular basis. 8 Church Nightmares describes several other conflicts you never want to see in your church.

If you would like to insulate your church from these kinds of trauma, please take a few minutes to read this free ebooklet: Bringing Relational Wisdom into Your Church. It explains how you can lead the way in equipping your leadership team and your entire congregation with relational skills they can use to promote unity and resolve conflict not only in your church but also in their homes and places of work.

If these concepts align with your church’s mission and vision, please go one step further and register today for our Rocky Mountain West Relationally Wise Leaders Conference, which is scheduled for October 5 in Bozeman, Montana. In addition to learning skills that enable you to model and teach relational wisdom and peacemaking, you will  learn new ways to spread the gospel in your community by using these relational concepts for outreach, evangelism and church growth.

I hope to see you in Bozeman!
